Brisbane and Queensland White Goods Removal

If you’ve avoided buying whitegoods that connect to the Internet for fear of them downloading music and buying stuff on eBay, I have some bad news.  From the moment you plugged in your fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer, oven or dishwasher, it’s been communicating with your other whitegoods. But they’re not talking about the latest album they downloaded, or the eBay item they just put a bid on.  Instead, they’re working out the most inconvenient time to break down.  And it’s a fine line. If they break down too early, they’ll probably be repaired under warranty. And if they leave it too late, they may be replaced before they have the chance to destroy your clothes and spoil your food.

Your fridge and freezer will probably go first, because they know how much you love food. Right now you might not think it’s such a bad thing. Your house feels pretty much like a freezer anyway, so you could just leave everything out on the kitchen bench.

How to Make Money from Spring Cleaning and Garage Sales

With summer just around the corner, in Queensland we are heading into garage sale season. There’s simply no better time to clear out all the junk and rubbish lurking around the house or in the garage! However, before you toss all those unwanted items straight into the trash, check out our top tips for how to make a few extra dollars for Christmas fun. It’s easy to make some cash from items you throw out during your spring clean – a garage sale is just one suggestion.

1. Trade in DVDs, books and computer games
DVDs, books and computer games are popular commodities and the options for selling them online and in person are immense. Second hand bookshops will often buy books off you and either give you cash or store credit in return. Websites like bookon.com.au or fishpond.com.au can also be good places to sell books including textbooks. Dixons Recycled will buy CD’s, DVD’s, Blurays and LP’s and even cassettes, posters, music books, and collectables if they are of some value. Ziffit.com is another option for selling books, CD’s, and DVD’s, and they also allow you to sell your computer games.

2. Resell Name Brand Clothing
If you have name brand clothing that is still in good condition, bundle it up and sell it to specialty clothing shops. These stores will often also buy clothing-related accessories like belts, shoes, hats, handbags and wallets. So, if your wardrobe is full of last season designer wear or trendy clothes, you could make a big chunk of change.

3. Make Money from Scrap Metal
If you have old copper pipes lying around, consider trading them to a scrap metal merchant. The most profitable scrap metals include copper, aluminium, brass, stainless steel, iron, lead, gold and silver. At the time of writing you can make anywhere between $4 and $6 per kilo of copper, or $0.20 to $1.50 per kilo of aluminium depending on the quality of the metal and the dealer you sell it to.

4. Sell Remaining Items at Garage Sale
Hosting a garage sale is a convenient way to sell anything you no longer need, including bric-a-brac, household furniture, sporting goods and much more. You can advertise on Craigslist, Gumtree and in the local newspaper and spread the word to friends and family. It is possible to make a few hundred dollars simply by giving up one day at the weekend to host a garage sale.

Office Rubbish Clearout & Removal

Whether you are moving office, have completed a new office fitout or have just had an office cleanup ready for the New Year, there’s often an awful lot of junk left over that needs to be removed! We know because we’ve seen it all before! Most of our commercial rubbish removal clients are located in the Brisbane CBD where you don’t really want to be using a skip bin and prefer to have all junk removed ASAP (without lifting a finger beyond making that initial enquiry!).

Our professional removalists take away everything from old computers (which we recycle) to broken office furniture, carpet and LEFTOVER fitout garbage.

The New Year is often the perfect time for an office clearout too. Many are still on holidays so it can be quiet whilst everyone is getting back into the swing of things after Christmas. We have more time to get organised than what’s normally available during the busy times when day to day pressures of an inner city office take over.

Our commercial rubbish removal clients are varied, from small businesses to large corporations plus we have a number of body corporate managers on our books for some well known Brisbane retail centres. Ask about these when you call to get your junk removed and get organised for 2010!
