The not so humble fridge removal service is probably the most common request we get here at Brizzy Rubbish Removals. It’s no wonder when you consider the weight of most modern fridges and white goods. Some will require two people just to manoeuvre them onto the moving truck. When you have a complex exit path such as down stairs, around corners or through narrow doorways it can get even trickier. Making these tasks easier is the exact reason we are in business because many people don’t have the time, strength or experience to be able to move a fridge without doing an injury or damaging the house (or vehicle) on the way out.Continue reading
Garden rubbish collection is a hot enquiry item right now and our team are working hard as per usual. It looks like Spring (or is it summer?) has come earlier than expected and i’s not looking to be a great combination of heat, wind and drought conditions. This means September a good time to be clearing all garden debris. Not only is this good for garden maintenance to make room for new growth when the rains come, it’s good for storm season and also to reduce your fire risk.
If you’re in Brisbane there are sure to be a few branches down with the recent windy weather. It can be hard to find time on the weekend (especially if you have family commitments) but we can halve the job by doing the garden rubbish dump run for you. So, when you’re finished with all the trimming give our team a call and we’ll finish the cleanup and remove all the garden rubbish with no drama.
You’re probably aware that the Brisbane City Council has a number of waste recycling centres that are used for rubbish removal in Brisbane. These are located at Willawong, Nudgee, Ferny Grove and Chandler. Domestic ‘dump vouchers’ get sent to rate holders and these can be used to cover fee’s for the disposal of waste at the refuse centres.
Recently the council announced a waste levy (paid to the Qld Government) that is affecting local Brisbane rubbish removers. The levy was put in place back in July 2019 to discourage interstate trucks coming across the border to dump rubbish in Queensland. The levy has very little effect on household wheelie bins. It does however impact local rubbish removal companies who now have to absorb the levy of $70 per tonne making a huge impact on business. Whilst we applaud any initiative to recycle more and reduce landfill, the increase is significant (almost double what we have previously paid at the refuse stations) and does have an impact on our business.
If you are like most Brisbane households, removing rubbish is bottom of the list of ‘fun jobs to do on the weekend in Brisbane’. To start with if it’s junk, it needs sorting. Then you have to get through the inevitable discussion around what should go and what shouldn’t be disposed of (is it really junk or is it a project you absolutely will get to before you retire?). We have heard and seen it all I can assure you!Continue reading
